In their evolution, every business, city and region will inevitably ask: what’s next?

Join father and son entrepreneurs George and Mark Cohon as they apply this “then, now, next” lens to the Toronto region and the businesses that inhabit it. From launching McDonald’s in Canada and Russia to getting Toronto on Amazon’s HQ2 finalists list, the Cohons will bring a global, intergenerational perspective to the Board’s annual night of influencers and decision-makers.

George Cohon, founder of McDonald’s Canada and McDonald’s Russia, has played an active and prominent role in international business affairs and philanthropy and has received the highest public service awards from numerous countries, including the Order of Canada, Russia’s Order of Friendship and the Israeli Prime Minister’s Medal. Additionally, George has an engaging relationship with the city of Toronto: he is widely recognized for co-founding Toronto’s Santa Claus Parade Organization in 1982; he served as Chairman, Board of Trustees, Ontario Science Centre from 1986 to 1992 and as Chairman, Board of Governors, Exhibition Place from 1983 to 1986; and, was presented with the Key to the City of Toronto in 2012.
